Juvenile probation placement officers must balance the dual responsibilities of ensuring both community safety, and the well-being of youth who have been removed from their homes. These officers are accountable for every detail of a youth's life; from shelter to medical care, from educational progress to his or her safe return to the community as a law-abiding citizen. In addition, if a youth is unable to safely return to his or her family, the Placement officer has the ultimate responsibility of establishing permanence for the youth.Features
